The North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church recognizes the need for professional counseling services which are specialized and beyond the scope and training of most pastors. The counseling staff of this ministry have graduate degrees and are affiliated with appropriate national professional organizations attesting to their qualifications and specialties. 2006 marked 40 years of ministry within the North Alabama religious community. This ministry is an extension of the local churches' ministry. It is spiritually sensitive and respectful of the client's religious perspectives. Clergy (and their familes) with the North Alabama Conference health insurance are entitled to 8 free EAP (Employee Assistance Program) visits with a counselor.
Pastoral Care and Counseling services are focused on healing, sustaining, reconciling and guiding our clients in their journey. This office through the resources of religion, medicine and behavioral sciences seeks to enable our clients through counseling and education to find enrichment and/or resolution in all life circumstances.
